Okay - so it’s 6 in the morning and I am a bit sleep deprived so bear with me here…these are the things that run around in my head when I can’t sleep…
Why are there no coloring books anymore? There are color and ACTIVITY books, which have five pages to color and a million to ACTIVITY with mazes and crosswords and whatever…and there are color and STICKER books, same issue…but there are no coloring books…I love to color, Master bought me a brand new box of 124 crayons and I can’t find any coloring books…sighhhhhhhh
What the heck are baby brussel sprouts? I mean they are so little to begin with…but yesterday at the market I saw frozen BABY brussel sprouts in cheese sauce. I don’t, or rarely, buy frozen vegetables if I can help it but the name caught my eye…and unless I am completely off base here, are the littler brussel sprouts kinda bitter? I’m just wonderin’
How is it that I have been walking this walk with Master for several years now and yet have no clue what a Dd or LDd household is? Am I just out of the loop or is it a matter of different labels for the same thing or??? I had a reader ask me and I have to acknowledge I don’t know….
How is it possible that my child is soon to be eighteen and I don’t feel nearly old enough to have an “adult” son? I mean c’mon, he was climbing in the hammock with me to read a ‘chapper book’ just last week, I swear…now he is living away from home (okay 12 miles and it’s in the dorms but still) and talking about ‘when I get married’ and paying his own bills (yes we fund the bank account for the most part but still…) and making his own choices about so many things. Was it not just last week that he needed help with his buttons? Now? He needs help with Calculus…how did this happen?
Speaking of adult children…how long does a 40 year old man get to pout? Master and I have been married for 15 months – it’s time to stop protesting the wedding…and no, stomping your feet and pouting in the corner is not going to change His mind about the business…you may be His child but His business supports several families and you trying to destroy it to get Him back for marrying me was just not acceptable…no matter how much He loves you. Putting Him in the position of having to choose was a really stupid idea…He loves you but there are limits even to His love…
Why have a guard dog if the only response to his barking is to tell him to stop barking? There have been a rash of burglaries in my little town lately. They are breaking into cars, using the garage opener to gain access to the house and then stealing electronics. A friend of ours got hit and they have two labs who bark when anyone ANYONE enters their house…the night they got hit the dogs were going nust and they told them to shut up…after ten minutes of hysterical barking they finally got up to yell at them and discovered most of their computer, camera, mp3 players, and his briefcase were gone…the light in the garage was still on so these people were in the house for less than 5 minutes…had they actually paid attention to their barking dogs they would have caught them in the act…
and finally – why did I say I would make the name tags AND magnets for the girls’ weekend next week? Cause I have so much time and nothing else to do? Ummmm yeah…about that…Master comes home tonight after being gone most of last week…I leave Friday for my annual weekend with the girls’ (for the uninformed, every year a bunch of us escape to Oregon for the weekend…we have done it for the past ohhh 15 years or so…started with nine of us, this year? 62…)
and now? I can justify getting in the shower to get ready for church…after all I have lots of nooks and crannies to shave for His homecoming…
The only place I’ve been able to actually find coloring books is at dollar stores. Usually I can find HUGE coloring books for a buck a piece. I hope this helps.

I tend to go online to find coloring “pages” nowadays… you can find just about any subject you like and various levels of difficulty / complexity. All you have to do is print them and you can have all the coloring you can stand…
As for the Dd and LDDd… It is Domestic discipline and Long distance Domestic Discipline… Generally, I see Dd as the “sanitized” and vanillia-cized brand of BDSM. Somewhere on The Heron Clan there’s a post that I wrote awhile ago about my evolution from Dd to BDSM and my view of what it is all about — if you really want to know.
Hope His homecoming is a joyous one for you both.
Hugs, swan

As swan said, DD stands for ‘domestic discipline’, there’s more info on it on this site:
http://www.takeninhand.com/
including an article on how DD relationships are different to D/s ones.
Hope that helps

I noticed the same thing about coloring books. I like swan’s idea though. I think I found mine at a Family Dollar or Dollar General.. something like that. But even then it wasn’t just a regular coloring book.
DD, LDD… just more labels to try and separate kink.
